Westinghouse 13 in 12-Amp Dethatcher review

A small 13-inch version for tight lawns: 12 amps, two heads, an 8-gallon bag and 22.9 lb, for about $109.

Smaller and cheaper

At 22.9 pounds, this is the one to pick if lifting matters. It keeps both heads, unlike the Sun Joe AJ801E, for about $50 less.

Limits

The 8-gallon bag fills fast, and a 13-inch path means more passes. For a lawn beyond a few thousand square feet, the 16-inch version earns its price.

Safe setup

Unplug the machine before changing a roller or clearing the tines, and use an outdoor-rated cord on a GFCI-protected outlet. Mark sprinkler heads and buried lines first: tines at working depth will catch them.
