WORX Trivac WG512 review

The high-volume Trivac: 600 CFM at a much lower air speed, with a 50-liter bag, for $117.

Volume over speed

At 600 CFM, the WG512 moves about 70% more air than the WG509, at about a third of the speed. That helps with piles of dry leaves.

Other changes

The bag grows to 50 liters and the mulch ratio falls to 16:1. For most yards, the cheaper WG509 is the better all-rounder.

Protection

Wear eye and hearing protection, and keep the air stream away from people and pets. Noise figures on listings do not always say whether they are sound power or sound pressure.

What this machine usually gets asked

Why is the MPH so low?

CFM is volume and MPH is speed. This blower moves a lot of air slowly, which pushes dry leaves but lifts less wet, stuck debris.

Are the bullets and table consistent?

The bullet gives 600 CFM and the table adds 70 or 75 MPH.

Our score

7.6/ 10

For moving volume. The WG509 is better for wet, stuck leaves.
