One reference per machine, and there are a lot of machines

perfektGarten is the clearest illustration on this site of why the “one reference per brand per shelf” rule exists.

On the scarifier blade shelf, the survey found twenty-one of its listings against fourteen manufacturers in total. The reason is its cataloguing method: rather than one universal part with a compatibility note, it publishes a separate listing for each machine family — a blade set for one make’s range, another for the next, each with the machine designations and the original part numbers in the title.

For a buyer with a specific machine that is genuinely useful, and it is the reason this seller is on the shelf at all. For a comparison it is fatal: a hub that took the seven cheapest listings would be a single seller’s catalogue presented as a comparison of the market.

So exactly one of its references enters each shelf, and the rest of the shelf is other names. That is not a judgement on the parts. It is the difference between a comparison and a catalogue, and this site chose the comparison.
