A textile-sleeved hose that stores almost flat — the shortest here, and the dearest per metre.
The construction
A PVC inner hose, inside a woven textile sleeve.
That is a different arrangement from everything else on this shelf. A
conventional garden hose has its reinforcement yarn buried between extruded PVC
layers, so the whole wall is stiff. Here the pressure-carrying layer is the
outside, and the inner tube is doing nothing structural.
What you get is a hose that behaves like a fire hose rather than a pipe: soft,
willing to bend tightly, and with no memory of the coil it was stored in.
What you give up is abrasion resistance. A textile outer dragged repeatedly
over a gravel path wears in a way a PVC jacket does not, and it stays wet
longer after use.
The price per metre, stated plainly
10 metres. At the German price recorded here that is about 2.79 € per
metre.
The cheapest hose on this shelf is about 0.76 € per metre, and it is also a
half-inch hose.
That is a factor of nearly four, and it is the single most important number on
this page. A textile hose is a better hose to handle. It is not four times as
much hose.
What 10 metres actually reaches
From a tap on a house wall: the patio, a couple of beds, the greenhouse if it
is close, a car on the drive.
Not a lawn of any size. The rest of this shelf is 20 to 25 metres because that
is what a garden needs, and joining two 10-metre hoses is worse than one
20-metre hose — every coupler is a restriction and a potential leak.
Gardena sells this length in a range that includes longer ones. This is the
short one, and the listing is straightforward about it: “short and medium
watering jobs with high comfort”.

The one product on this shelf that publishes both gives 9 bar working against
18 bar burst — a factor of two, and the only measured relationship this shelf
offers.
Frost and UV
The listing says the textile sleeve protects the inner hose against frost and
UV radiation.
UV is straightforward: sunlight degrades PVC, an opaque woven cover shades it,
and a hose that lives outdoors lasts longer for it.
Frost needs the usual qualifier. A sleeve protects the material from cold.
It does nothing about water inside the hose freezing and expanding, which
splits any hose ever made. Draining before winter is still the rule, and no
hose on this shelf is exempt from it.

More than 1.6× the cheapest country at the French Amazon store; a gap of that size normally means forwarded stock rather than a seller on the ground, so the spread above leaves it out.
