Blades, not a roller
This is the loose-blade article, and it is a different purchase from the
complete roller elsewhere on this shelf.
A bladed scarifier roller is a stack on a through-shaft: blade, spacer, blade,
spacer, along the width, held by a bolt at each end. Buying blades replaces the
cutting parts and leaves the shaft, the spacers and the bearings as they are.
That is cheaper and it is the right choice when the blades are worn and the
roller is sound. It is the wrong choice when the roller rumbles, which means
bearings.
Two manufacturers, named
The listing names five machines from one maker and one from another.
That is rebadging made visible. The same scarifier design sold under two names
takes the same blades, and a buyer with the second badge would never think to
look at a listing headed with the first.
Naming both is the useful thing here and almost nothing on this shelf does it.
Four part numbers
The same blade catalogued four ways over a production run.
This site prints reference numbers exactly as the seller gives them. A
transcription error in a part number is an order that goes wrong and a fortnight
of lawn left unscarified in the only week of the year it should have been done.
