BRAST

Engines and kilowatts, four shelves

BRAST sells four machines here and all four lead with power. A petrol mower with a drive and a stated kilowatt figure; a mains scarifier quoted in watts; a tiller quoted as a range because the listing covers several models at once; a shredder in both petrol and electric.

The multi-model listing is the thing to watch. Several of these entries describe a family rather than a single machine — “1050 to 1800 watts, 36 to 45 cm, four models” — and the figure a buyer ends up with depends on the variant selected. This site reports the range as printed and names it as a range, because picking the top of it would be reporting a machine that is not the one at the stated price.

What the range does not offer is a cordless anything, or a spare part for its own machines. Both are worth knowing before buying into it.

Which shelves carry BRAST

  • BRAST BRE-AF 1500

    1500 W, 450 mm wide, 220 mm deep, 24 blades, 11 kg, 400 rpm

The only tiller here with a weight, a speed and an anti-jam clutch: 11 kg, 400 rpm, 24 blades on 450 mm.

Best for: A large vegetable plot worked every year, by somebody who expects to own the machine for a decade

  • BRAST BRE-RV-4000

    40 cm, 2000 W, 20 blades + 24 tines, −12 to +6 mm, 55 L

A 2000 W machine with a stated depth range of −12 to +6 mm, a 55-litre bag and both rollers — sold as one of three models in a range.

Best for: A large lawn with real thatch, where the depth needs setting rather than guessing

  • BRAST 55 cm, 5.2 kW

    55 cm, 224 cm³, 5.2 kW, rear drive, 60 L, 30–80 mm, 35.1 kg

The widest deck and the only published weight in this family: 224 cm³, 55 cm, 35.1 kg, with assembled dimensions and both wheel sizes given.

Best for: A large open lawn where width and engine matter more than the machine being easy to put away
