That ratio is the best on this shelf. A narrow deck produces less material per metre walked, so a generous box on a small machine means genuinely fewer stops — which is the practical measure of a catcher, rather than its volume in the abstract.
On wet grass the effective volume of any box is much smaller than the stated one, because the material packs and the airflow gives up before the bag is full.
A mulching plug closes the discharge so clippings recirculate. It is often an accessory sold separately, and finding it in the carton is worth a line.
