At 550 g the box is stated to be very handy and easy to carry. The large 26
litre volume is stated to save time when mowing because it needs emptying less
often. It is made of robust nylon, described as very stable, hard-wearing and
correspondingly durable.

A grass box is carried full and emptied, repeatedly. Its own mass is dead
weight — added to every trip to the heap and to nothing useful.
At 550 g this is a third the empty weight of the other catcher here that
publishes one, and on a hand mower used on a small lawn that is the right
proportion: the machine itself is light and a heavy bag would unbalance it.
Why a hand mower catcher is small
26 litres sounds modest against the 50 and 60 litre boxes on the mower shelves.
It is the right size for the machine. A cylinder mower cutting a maintained
lawn takes a few millimetres off at a time and produces very little material
per pass, so a small box is emptied no more often than a large one on a rotary
machine.
Nylon
Named, where most of this shelf says “fabric”.
A grass box lives full of damp cuttings and dries in a shed. Nylon holds up to
that better than a cheaper woven synthetic, and the failure of any fabric bag
is a seam rather than the cloth.
What goes unpublished
The frame. A grass box is a bag on a former, and how it clips to the machine is
what decides whether it seats properly — a catcher that does not seat leaks at
the join and leaves a line of clippings down the lawn.
Two named machines and no dimensions means there is nothing to check.
