What the maker prints on its own page

Wheel diameter 175 mm. Bushes: 8.2 mm, 10.2 mm, 12.2 mm, 15.8 mm. Packaging dimensions. Model number 72-601.

Four lines, from a parts house rather than a marketing department.

The bushes are the product

A wheel is easy. An axle you cannot identify is the problem.

The situation this part exists for: a mower eight or twelve years old, a wheel that has split or whose bush has worn oval, and a manufacturer that stopped listing parts for that model some time ago. The mower is otherwise fine.

Four reducing bushes from 8.2 to 15.8 mm cover most domestic mower axles. You measure the axle, pick the bush, and the wheel fits.

That is a genuinely useful piece of design and it is why a spares house sells it rather than a mower maker.

The tenths

8.2, 10.2, 12.2, 15.8.

Those are not rounded figures and they are not meant to be: a bush has to slide onto a nominal 8, 10 or 12 mm axle, and the two tenths are the clearance that makes it a wheel rather than an interference fit.

Publishing them to a tenth is what tells you somebody measured.

The one question this wheel listing dodges

The width, the hub length, the bearing type and the material.

A universal wheel of the right diameter with the right bush can still be wrong: too wide for the bracket it has to sit in, or with a hub too short for the gap between bracket and clip.

Measure those on the old wheel as well before ordering, because this listing will not tell you.

The prices

Priced in five of the six markets, and the spread is the widest on this shelf — the highest figure is roughly ten times the lowest.

This site reports each market’s price as read on the survey date. It does not convert one into another, and it does not average them: a figure nobody was charged is not a price.

Availability

From 11 € to 15 €, that being the spread across the German, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores on the day of the survey.

Beyond the euro zone, the American and British Amazon stores price it in their own currencies, which the spread above sets aside.

Listed and unsold: the French Amazon catalogue holds the reference with nobody behind it.
